As a follow up to yesterday's post, art has always had it's history in reflecting the world around the artist. The artist draws inspiration from their daily lives, the world around the artist provides the fuel for the need to create. The artist is the lens that sees and then makes, often leaving commentary that only an artist would recognize. One of the reoccurring themes downtown in the shows that I haven't mentioned before is the subject of the human condition. Here is a shot from a show at Crew West. I particularly love the fact that the image is on the stock market section of the paper, suggesting to the viewer how someone might end up living on the street and pushing a cart.
