"All the random things in life that inspire me, some I create, some I spot and those I aspire to.
It's random, but then again, that's the point."

D_Face_Culver_City

Complete with Paparazzi out front, models, Marily Monroe and Michael Jackson impersonators and a space so packed  I could barely get a look at the art, let alone photograph it, the D face show in Culver City was quite a spectacle. Here are some shots from the show...that is the few I was able to shoot.

Fashion_Legs

Ahh the fashion district in Los Angeles...It is sooo crazy. For those of you who haven't been I highly recommend you take a stroll down Santee Alley to see what it's all about. It's probably not what you are expecting. It's not glamorous, it's not clean and it isn't what you are picturing in your mind. It is full of life, bacon wrapped hotdogs and cheap clothing, shoes and nick knacks! From the sellers shouting to buy things at a great price, usually in Spanish to the hand drawn nock off nike signs it's quite a spectacle.
Check it out!
A common display for leggings.

Bacon wrapped hot dogs...delicious!

A little Ed Hardy anyone?

Notice it says Barrie not Barbie.

Hand illustrated adidas and nike signs....

Art_In_The_Streets

Art in the streets, the current show at MOCA in Los Angeles is creating quite a stir. It is evoking long held points of view about the validity of graffiti as an acceptable art form. The New York Times is writing articles about the show and every little independent newspaper has something to say. I think when an art show drums up some controversy then it's a success. It's making us think, taking us out of our comfort zone and forcing us to question what we know. For me this is by far the greatest art show of the year. The sheer volume and well choreographed collection made me feel overwhelmed like going to disneyland and feeling like you missed something important. I will be visiting this show over and over. It was simply AWESOME!

Here are some of my favorites...Warning....this is a looooong post...
