That layer of protection for the organs, the largest membrane of the body, the thing that peels puckers and bloats. The layer of protection on a building keeping the weather out and the warmth in. The markings of an animal signifying to a mate it is ready. The material used to make purses and outerwear. The chameleon uses it's skin to hide and blend into the surrounding landscape. The outer layer of a fruit requiring pealing to get to the goods inside. Sometimes soft and flexible sometimes rigid and unyielding. The term skin as a design element is awesome, there are so many possible explorations. Here are some of my thoughts...it's just a beginning.

"Just as bones, tissues, intestines, and blood vessels are enclosed in a skin that makes it possible to bear the sight of a human being, so the agitations and passions of the soul are wrapped up in vanity; it is the soul's skin"
Friedrich Nietzsche
